Ben Tunnicliffe's Nowhere Ensemble

Ben Tunnicliffe is a bassist who's professional career began in his teens and who's achievements show he's as passionate exploring acoustic folk as he is deconstructing electronic music.

Touring in 2024, Ben Tunnicliffe's Nowhere Ensemble perform compositions that deploy improvisation and synthesizers in the pursuit of alien beauty. Exploring the use of synth as the bass instrument, Ben creates with his quartet an ethereal landscape that merges a low end similar to an organ trio with the ever-changing face of electronic culture.

On this second tour, Ben's grassroots approach will bring his music around England and Wales sharing an alien landscape that dares to stand alone amongst synth-touched Jazz groups of today.

For this first performance as band leader at The Jam Factory, Ben will be joined by drummer Joe Taylor, legendary local guitarist Josh Lamdin and Sophie Stockham on woodwinds.
